Policies
Compass Catering would like 24 hour notice for all typical catering orders. We would appreciate 48 hours for orders involving hot prepared entrée. Our delivery hours start as early as 6:00 am.
Compass understands that last minute orders occur, and as always, we will do our absolute best to accommodate your catering and event needs. For your last minute orders, please call directly our office at 281-901-7630.
Our office hours are 6:00 am-3:00 pm Monday through Friday. Therefore, orders placed late Friday or over the weekend will not be received in our office until Monday morning. Please call directly our office at 281-901-7630, if an order must be placed late Friday afternoon.
Our catering attendants will deliver and set up your order at the requested location. All service is free delivery unless otherwise noted. If the event is off-site, delivery charges may apply.
Catering orders will include all necessary plates, utensils, napkins & condiments in quantities consistent with your order. We also supply equipment needed to ensure the food is served properly. Please see our Event Tiers page for specifics.
Any late changes (less than 24 hours) to an original order can be made online by logging into your account. Late order changes may not be fulfilled as it depends on our kitchen schedule that day. Please also call directly Catering Team for any late changes.
To avoid cancellation charges, please contact our team at least 24 hours in advance. Your changes are not confirmed until we have contacted you either by an email or a phone call from our event coordinators to confirm your changes.
8.25% Sales tax is applied to all orders. Tax-exempt organizations must provide a tax letter with first order.
Prices on our menus and website are negotiated and established by Shell Management and Compass Group. Any future price increases will be communicated company and site wide prior to implementation.
Substitutions and additions to menu items may result in additional charges. We recommend clients request a new price quote if there are any additions or substitutions. Please contact the catering department for details.
Tier One - Your catering delivered with recyclable disposable wares and set for informal buffet dining.
This buffet consists of environmentally-friendly disposable platters, bowls & serving utensils with disposable plates and utensils for guests. Standard with each buffet: appropriate menu signage, food safety notification, and product identification (includes hot items, sandwiches and items that would need clarification; also allergens), serving utensils, and disposables for guests. Linen and buffet attendant available upon request (additional charge).
Service Provided: Catering Attendant will set up items, as well as return after the event to collect any remaining items (i.e. signs). Buffets will be set 15 minutes prior to start time unless otherwise requested.
Tier Two - Your catering delivered with china and set for elegant buffet dining. This buffet consists of china platters, bowls & serving utensils with china plates, flatware in linen roll ups, and table linen or runners for credenzas. Standard with each buffet: appropriate menu signage, food safety notification, and product identification (includes hot items, sandwiches and items that would need clarification; also allergens), serving utensils, and china service for guests. Please discuss pricing for china with your catering representative.
Service Provided: Catering Attendant will set up items, as well as return after the event to clean up. Buffets will be set 15 minutes prior to start time unless otherwise requested.
Optional Staffing: If your event requires attendants throughout the duration of service, please contact the catering department.
Tier Three - Your custom, full service catered event fulfilled by our catering staff.
Full Service Events typically consist of servers, equipment, linen, and decor. Our Catering team will consult with the customer on menu options, beverage package, linen colors, staffing needs, floral options, additional décor, music/entertainment, and any other desired details. Our Full Service Events range from a Reception Buffet to a Plated Lunch/Dinner Event and can take place anywhere from a conference room to an outdoor tent. These are custom events that will be structured and priced on an individual basis to fulfill the desired end result.
Services Provided: Full Service Events are customized for each client. A proposal will be offered with complete details of service and cost.
Reception with Buffet & Bar - Limited availability. Requires approval of STCH management approval at minimum 3 weeks in advance of event
Reception with Passed Hors d’Oeuvres & Bar - Limited availability. Requires approval of STCH management at minimum 3 weeks in advance of event
Plated Lunch/Dinner

Please note that all events over 50 guests that require china must be requested two weeks prior to the event to ensure availability.
Professional staff ($25 per hour with a minimum of 4 hours) can be arranged for functions past the normal operating hours or for special evening or weekend functions. If your event should run longer than anticipated, your invoice will be adjusted.
Consuming raw or undercooked meats, poultry, seafood, shellfish, eggs or unpasteurized milk may increase your risk of food borne illness.
It is our policy that any leftover food will be discarded after the event. We will leave or pack leftovers that are safe to consume (leftover cookies/brownies and beverages) if the client requested beforehand. We do not recommend serving leftovers after the event as we cannot anticipate how long leftover food has been held at unsafe temperatures, nor are we qualified to evaluate the condition of the leftover food. Under no circumstances can leftover food be given to guests. The client will assume full responsibility for any liability as a result from consuming leftover food after the event.
Ordering from Compass Catering is both easy and secure. When you place an order, you can feel confident that your credit card information is protected by our secured server. Our online ordering servers are hosted by CaterTrax, which has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse or alteration of the information under our control. We use encryption technology to protect your sensitive personal information stored on our servers and while being transmitted over the Internet. Your information is always stored in this fashion and is never transferred without encryption.
By completing any application/forms on this Web site, you are offering data to Compass Catering that it will keep private and use only as described here.
Compass Catering will not sell, give away, or otherwise distribute your personal information that has been collected through this site, either in the near or distant future, without first contacting you and receiving your explicit permission.
Your information on our database will be used solely by Compass Catering, both to fulfill the service to you as described within the site, and for future correspondence with you. (For example, we might contact you at some future date, to make an offer, or to discuss a past service.) Is there a minimum order?
-We are happy to accommodate Tier 1 catering for any size group. We ask that buffets including hot food or upper level service be ordered for a minimum of 10 guests.
Is there a fee for ordering late?
-We ask for a 48-hour notice for catering orders. However, we understand that last minute needs do arise and will make every effort to accommodate them. There is no fee for ordering last minute.
Is there a delivery fee for drop-off events?
-Delivery is complimentary for events within the STCH Campus.
What specialty décor is available?
-Upon request, our catering manager can assist in ordering appropriate décor (market prices apply).
How is payment arranged?
-Payment details must be supplied at the time of ordering, but processing will take place upon completion of the event.
Is tax included?
-Tax will be calculated in addition to the subtotal of the event at the State determined tax rate, which is 8.25% currently.
What is the cancellation policy?
-Cancelling within 24 hours may result in a 100% fee. Please directly call our office for any cancellations that occur within 24 hours of your scheduled event.
What if my event is not typical?
-We are a full service caterer – specialty food items, entertainment, outdoor set-ups including tents – we cover all of the essentials
What if I don’t see what I want on the menu?
-Our creative culinary team will provide a custom food item or entirely customized menu.
